Beppe and Gianni’s Trattoria – Ask anyone who has spent some time in this city what their favorite restaurant is and chances are they will tell you Beppe and Gianni’s. This delicious authentic Italian restaurant features some amazing fresh handmade pasta dishes. Some favorites include the classic Lasagna Della Classa and their ravioli del giorni (all types delicious). And of course they have a well-stocked selection of wine to pair with your meal.
Kowloon Restaurant & Lounge – Tasty Chinese Cuisine that includes delivery and take out! Be warned, the plates are huge so leftovers are to be expected. Kowloon features a large menu including meat and vegetarian options as well as some thrifty family combo options if you’re dining with a group. We recommend the Chef’s Chow Mein!
Glenwood Café – Another restaurant on our list within walking distance from the hotel, The Glenwood Café offers a wide variety of meals from Tempeh Stir Fry to delicious burgers and sandwiches, and even some pasta dishes all at a fair price in a cozy diner style atmosphere. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Glenwood never disappoints.
Tacovore – This trendy counter serve taco shop is located in the continually growing Whittaker neighborhood and is a great spot for lunch or dinner. From Line Caught Pacific True Cod and Grass Fed ground beef to crispy tofu and some delicious veggie options, this restaurant has something for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Make sure you get more than one or you’ll find yourself back in line for more shortly after. And if that wasn’t enough for you they’re also known for making some pretty awesome margaritas. Their website says it all, “It’s here. Tacos. Tequila. Duh.”
Cornucopia Restaurant and Catering – If it’s burgers you’re after look no further. A converted house with a very laid back atmosphere, the walls covered with goofy pictures of friends and family that make you feel right at home. This is a great spot for getting dinner with friends and grabbing a drink. And don’t forget your appetite because these burgers are huge. But that is not all! They also have some pretty great pasta dishes and salads.
Chula’s – Another fantastic Mexican food spot, they’ve got it all, spicy to mild, burritos, enchiladas, tamales, you name it. They have drink specials every day but a huge favorite of ours is the $15 Margarita Pitcher Special every Tuesday. A couple of meals we recommend are the Chula’s Nachos and the Burrito Relleno. Within walking distance of the Phoenix Inn Eugene.
Sabai Café and Bar – Pacific Rim Cuisine, right in Eugene! This sophisticated Lounge is a great date night spot for lovers of Thai food. If the weather is nice out they even have a beautiful patio area with a large water fountain for an accent. But let’s talk about what you really came there for, THE FOOD. They have curries, noodle dishes, stir-fry and some delicious specials you just can’t pass up like the Avocado Curry Noodle Plate with your choice of protein or vegetable, or Spicy Cashew Noodles.
Elk Horn Brewery – Beer within walking distance. Do we have you sold yet? Well fortunately for you, Elk Horn Brewery not only has amazing brews, they have an amazing selection of southern style cuisine with a twist. From a chicken and waffle sandwich to a burger with beer cheese sauce AND cheese curds, this BBQ spot does things different. And don’t forget to try the $10 cider taster flight that includes any 5 of their featured ciders of your choice. All of which they brew themselves.
Bier Stein – One of Eugene’s best local establishments for beer and cider connoisseurs of all types hoppy IPAs, cloudy stouts and gleaming ciders. We encourage all of our guest while in Rome enjoy some of the finer drinks in life. If you don’t like what they have on tap don’t worry, because Bier Stein has over 1000 bottles of beer from around the world. And if you want something to eat they have a great selection of Paninis and other gourmet sandwiches. This is also an excellent Poke-Stop for any Pokémon fans out there.
Papa’s Soul Food – A close neighbor to Tacovore, Papa Soul Food is located in the heart of the Whittaker Neighborhood. What started out as just a Food Cart downtown, Papa’s has now grown into the best home style barbecue food in the city and was even featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives! Get ready to loosen your belt and dive in because this stuff is messy and you won’t be able to put it down once you start. The beef brisket falls apart in your mouth and the pulled pork sandwich should probably come with a bib. The best time to come is on Fridays and Saturdays when they play a wide variety of live music. Local blues, R&B, and soul artists every week!
